In a move designed to promote South Africa’s position as a destination of choice for health, wellness and medical care in foreign markets, the Medical Tourism Association of South Africa (MTASA), will be launching a web portal in collaboration with a number of stakeholders at the MediClinic Morningside on 23 February 2012.
Following the worldwide concern with the PIP situation, we would like to clarify our position within the South African market, as well as provide you with further information which you can be passed on to patients explaining Eurosilicone's non-relationship with PIP and the insurance of their manufacturing standards and quality.
The report on the 24th of November, 2011 indicates that SUSPECTED cases of life threatening Typhoid Fever in Harare have risen to more than 500 from about 100 cases a fortnight ago.
Harare health officials are attending to patients with heavy acute watery diarrhoea, the majority of whom are suspected to be infected with typhoid. Harare City spokesperson last week confirmed at a press briefing that there had been an increase in patients with symptoms of Typhoid Fever.
The Department of Health has informed SASTM of the following amendments in the Yellow Fever Policy:
The RSA has reviewed its yellow fever vaccination requirements policy, which will be effective from 1 October 2011.
